The blankets are warm and Jack is warm and Ennis closes his eyes against the cold and teh dark and lets Jack hold him for as long as he wants.
What Ennis
wants
to do is to hold Jack, feel him, touch him, fuck him, ask Jack to fuck him, but instead what he does is swallow and say-
"Maybe I should just stay with Junior 'n them,"
